Zandra Rhodes began her career in fashion at the Royal College of Art in London, over 40 years ago.  Her designs have always been clear, creative statements, dramatic but graceful, bold yet feminine and her garments have a timeless quality that makes them unmistakably a Rhodes creation. In the 1970s, Zandra pioneered innovative textile and garment construction techniques; reversed exposed seams, the use of safest pins and tears, thus earning her the edgy reputation and respect she retains today. Celebrity fans include Kate Moss, the late Princess Diana and Nicole Richie. She has recieved numerous awards over her 45 years in the business, including an OBE and an Emmy, and 2 Royal Design for Industry, and appointment to the BFC "Hall of Fame".

"When I came to London from Peru in the '70s, Zandra was all anyone was talking about in fashion and I remember working with her designs back then. Her work was so unique. It is amazing that 25 years later I photographed her for UK Vogue alongside other fashion icons; and she still continues to inspire the new talent. Her work is still unique and instantly recognisable among contemporary designs. These are few designers who have that kind of longevity."- Mario Testino
